Follow these steps to get the best results
CLING FILM -
- Keep the cling film on your tattoo until you get home, up to 1-2 hours.
- Before removing the film, wash your hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap.
- Rinse and gently clean your new tattoo with warm water using only your clean hand. You may use a small amount of unscented antibacterial soap.
- Allow your tattoo to air dry or pat it dry with a fresh paper towel. (avoid using cloth towels)
- Apply a thin layer of aftercare product. I recommend Palmer’s Cocoa butter. (the solid formula found in a tub)
- If your environment is clean, it is best to leave your tattoo unwrapped.
- Repeat these steps 3-4 times daily, always with clean hands.
- Depending on the size and style of your tattoo, this process may need to be repeated for up to 2 weeks.
- Continue moisturising your tattoo for a minimum of 2-4 weeks after it has fully healed.
SECOND SKIN -
- You may notice ink, blood and plasma under the second skin. this is normal and nothing to worry about.
- Remove the protective film after 2-5 days. If it comes off earlier you can proceed with the aftercare steps.
- Get into the shower, and ensure you have washed your hands with antibacterial soap. Start removing the second skin, allowing water to get under it and loosen its grip.
- Rinse and gently clean your new tattoo with warm water using only your clean hand. You may use a small amount of unscented antibacterial soap.
- Allow your tattoo to air dry or pat it dry with a fresh paper towel. (Avoid using bathroom towels)
